Neutral Playroom Storage Update

Christmas is over and if you’re a mom after my own heart… you’ve spent this past week decluttering and trying to organize your kids toys. You may even be wondering where they all came from! I know, my grinch is showing! But honestly, the toy clutter overwhelms me especially after holidays and birthdays. So we decided to tackle it head on and update the kids’ space with some neutral playroom storage!

I do love organization. And I think it really helps to have good systems in place so that the kids are able to learn how to clean up and maintain their space. We have had these cube shelves for toy storage in the playroom for some time now. And we recently added them to the kids’ closets as well. They’re really affordable and the divided sections help little hands and minds remember where things belong. At least that’s the idea!! But I don’t always love the storage bins that are meant to go in the cubes. For the playroom I wanted something that fit our home’s style a little better.

While at our local Target, I found the most adorable woven felt baskets… and they fit in the 11 inch cube shelves! I knew these would make the perfect neutral playroom storage bins for the kids’ toys!! I bought the small size, but they do come in a larger size as well. The baskets seem pretty durable so far, and the material seems plenty stiff enough to hold up during play.

The neutral color drew my eye initially, but that texture is what I fell for! And the fact that they fit into the cube shelves was the icing on top! I ended up purchasing 4 of these, but I would have bought more if our local Target had more in stock. I love the fact that these bins could easily transition to other rooms when I inevitably rearrange things.

We’re currently using these baskets in the playroom to store little pieces like duplo legos, play food, and our beloved paw patrol toys. I really enjoy organization in general. But when it matches and coordinates with my neutral farmhouse / cottage style, it really makes my heart happy!

Updating the kid’s space with some neutral playroom storage bins was a simple way to make the cube shelves fit in more with my style!
