The Two Most Quintessential Farmhouse Design Elements: White and Woodgrain
Welcome fellow farmhouse lovers! This post of somewhat of a nod to two of the most quintessential farmhouse design elements. But it’s also a “how we came up with our name” post. If you’re reading this, you can probably already guess which two design elements I find to be quintessentially farmhouse! (Hint, it’s in the blog’s name…)
I have been wracking my brain trying to come up with the perfect blog name for what has felt like an eternity. There are some good ones out there, and it can be hard to come up with something original! I’m the type of person who needs all the “t’s” crossed and the “i’s” dotted before I can really begin a project. And the only thing holding me back from starting this blog was this ever elusive name.
One afternoon I decided that the parking lot of our local craft store would be the perfect place to solve this once and for all. So there I was, iPad in hand, radio on, desperate to just pick a name already. I mean I had about an hour to kill, should be able to just knock this out, right? Haha!
So later that week, I was still drawing a blank. Driving my kiddos around, my mind wandered to some of the painted furniture I’ve been wanting to update in our home. I couldn’t decide whether I’d give it a fresh coat of white paint, or maybe strip it down to let the woodgrain show.
And that’s when it came to me… White & Woodgrain. It came to me just like that! I’ve incorporated A LOT of white and woodgrain throughout our home. It is truly a classic farmhouse combination, the perfect mix of fresh and clean but also earthy, natural, and warm. In my opinion, white and woodgrain are the two most quintessential farmhouse design elements.
So cheers to finally settling on the name White & Woodgrain! However you ended up here, it’s nice to have you. I’m glad you came and I hope you stick around! Thanks for following along…
