Thrifting & Antiquing Finds at The Habitat For Humanity ReStore

One of my favorite things to do is wander the aisles of an antique shop or thrift store hunting for treasures! And it’s been a goal of mine to share more of those trips with y’all in stories on the gram. And I also want to share my finds and favorite honeyholes with you here on the blog. So today I thought I’d share one of my recent thrifting and antiquing finds from the Habitat For Humanity Restore!

The other day I made a spontaneous stop for a quick thrifting session and found the most beautiful antique gold framed mirror! I don’t know about you, but I have had myself convinced for years that I hated gold. It probably has something to do with the ever popular gold / shiny brass door knobs and fixtures builders used in the 80’s and 90’s. I have been avoiding gold and warmer toned metals ever since, and have been trying to hate it. But what I’m finding now is that I have become pretty fond of the warmth an antique gold piece. Especially when mixed with woods and whites!

The details on the frame are beautiful, and the understated gold tone is the perfect warm color without too much shine. All the little black specks and oxidation marks in the mirror have my vintage heart swooning! And one of the best parts … I scored this beautiful mirror for only $15! I would call that a steal!! It is massive at 31″ by 43″, ands it weighs a little over 30 lbs.

Y’all should have seen me trying to hang this thing!! It was a beast to lift up and hang, but I am loving the way it looks above the bed!! It adds a lot of warmth to this mostly white space! I recently updated the door color in our master bedroom seen in the photos below. You can see the before and get the details on the paint color I used for the door in this post. Adding this mirror to the space is making my vision for our master bedroom come together even more.
