Vintage Roadside Finds
Does anyone else pretend to star in your own episode of American Pickers when you take the backroads? Just me…? I definitely have my favorite antique stores and honey holes around here, but lately the vintage roadside finds have been popping up left and right, and I am not complaining one bit!
We recently found a well-loved wicker couch in ok-ish condition for free! The jury is still out on whether or not we’ll be able to stabilize it, but if we can I know it’ll be perfect for the porch!
And when we picked up the couch, we also grabbed a basket of vintage green coke bottles. I still have to clean these, but I just couldn’t pass them up! I’m thinking they’ll be a sweet little addition to a spring centerpiece using them as bud vases. Also… they were totally free as well!
But this next find y’all! This next find I was not expecting! So for the last few months I’ve been driving past the most beautiful, vintage, diamond-paned, wood window…
I have mentioned this window in passing to my husband a handful of times. I’ve (not so casually) pointed it out to him when we’ve been in the car together. And, I may or may not have told my him “I wish they’d put a for sale sign on that thing already! I’m in the market to buy it!”
Well, don’t ya know all that admiring and pining over this window paid off? My husband surprised me with the window as an early Christmas present! Apparently there was a sign in the yard with a phone number… he called the number and made them an offer all to my surprise! I have literally driven past this window for months now and I can’t believe it’s mine!
I’m still trying to choose the perfect spot to hang it here in the farmhouse. And of course I’ll share that with y’all here on the blog when the time comes… But so far, this is hands down my favorite vintage roadside find!
If you’re like me, you’re scanning the backroads too… and I want to hear from you, what are some of your favorite vintage roadside finds? Thanks for being here and for following along…
You hit the jackpot! I had a smaller diamond pane window that I decided to sell. Love old windows and what a great find with the wicker chair and coke bottles! Picking is my favorite thing to do, especially when I find antique or vintage free stuff!
Well thank you! I was excited about all of it! But that window is probably my favorite!! 🙂 Gotta find a good spot to hang it up…
You are not alone! That is one of our favorite pastimes! And I am in love with that window! It is going to be beautiful in the house.
So fun!! And thank you! I can’t wait to get it cleaned up and hung after the holiday mess is cleaned up! 🙂
Gorgeous window! Can’t wait to see where it ends up.
Aw, thank you!! I still haven’t decided yet! Maybe above our bed? It’s huge! It’s like 6′ by 4.5′ 😬
Awesome find! Great article!
Well thank you! It was a great find for sure!!
