This time of year you’ll probably start seeing lots of gift guides floating around on social media! And they’re typically all compiled with a particular recipient in mind… Like for instance, you’ll see gift guides for men, or gift guides for women, or even for children in a certain age group. Sometimes they’re based on the recipients interests and you’ll see things like gift guide for sports enthusiast or chef. I thought I’d put one together just for us, and I’m calling it the farmhouse lover’s gift guide! But with a twist y’all… Lately I’ve been wanting to do a better job at supporting and shouting out the small businesses, small companies, authors, and even just niche companies or products that I have come to know and love. So my farmhouse lover’s gift guide is full of small businesses!
Now not all farmhouse lovers are the same, and so I’ve broken it down into even more specific categories or farmhouse fanatics! This gift guide is sure to have something on it for the farmhouse lover, Joanna Gaines fan girl, DIY-er, home decor obsessed, antique junkie on your Christmas list this year! And if nothing else, I’ll be able to share it with mu husband!! (Haha!)
For the Homebody
For the farmhouse lover who also just loves the feeling of being home… and in true Joanna Gaines style, refers to themselves as a homebody! Now as a fellow homebody, and a fellow farmhouse lover, there’s one home decor related gift I always get excited about, and that is my candles!!
This month I tried out a new to me small shop candle maker. Lindsay Stroud of Stroud Simply Southern. All the candles in the photos above are from her shop! Lindsay makes the best smelling, all natural, soy candles and they come in these beautiful dough bowls and mason jars to fit right into your home’s farmhouse style. My favorite scent from her shop is Volcano, which to me smells just like fresh cut citrus fruit! But Christmas tree farm and Spiced Gingerbread were also really amazing!
For the DIY-er
So many of us farmhouse lovers are also really into DIY’s and chippy painted furniture! So I’ve included some of my favorite DIY painting supplies. Fusion Mineral Paint and Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint are my go to paints for furniture refinishing!! And I have been extremely impressed by my Staalmeester brushes.
For the Fixer Upper Fanatic
Joanna Gaines changed the game for farmhouse lovers with her HGTV show Fixer Upper! If you or someone on your list loved watching her TV show and can’t get enough of the Hearth and Hand section at Target… then this part of the gift guide is for you! I’ve put together a collection of some of my favorite home decor / design inspo books that Joanna Gaines fans will absolutely love!
For the Antique Collector
What does an antique collector want for Christmas? You guessed it… more antiques! For this one, you may have to think a little out of the box, because honestly, part of the fun of being an antique collector is the thrill of the hunt!! So my best advice when shopping for an antique collector is to get them a gift card for an antique store near them. Or even tickets to a local antique market if you can find one in your area! The Vintage Market Days events is one of the first markets that comes to mind because these events take place in various locations and times throughout the year. Some of my Favorite Antique Shops in NC
- Fleabody’s in Wilmington, NC
- Vintage Village in Raleigh, NC
- Burgaw Antiqueplace in Burgaw, NC
- Riverside Barn Antiques in Wallace, NC
- Etsy (I included this one because many antique shops sell online through Etsy! So this one could work for any location.)
I hope this farmhouse lover’s gift guide gave you a few ideas for someone on your list this year, and maybe even a few ideas for yourself! And if these ideas really resonated with you or someone you’re shopping for this season, you could even create a gift basket or a fill a stocking with items from each of the different categories! I had a lot of fun putting this post together, so I hope it’s helpful to you as well! Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend friends!! I appreciate you stopping by the blog and hanging out with me here today… and as always, thank you so much for following along…
