Pretty Rooms with Blue Painted Trim (P.S. It’s a New Blog Series!)
Today on the blog, I’m sharing some pretty room inspo and a handful of beautiful rooms with blue painted trim!
We’re currently refreshing both my kids’ bedrooms now that construction on the cottage is done.
And a big part of that update involves a fresh coat of paint for both spaces – but we aren’t just painting the walls!
I got the idea to paint the walls white, and paint all the trimwork blue… and ever since I just can’t stop thinking about it!
So I’ve been saving all the pretty inspo pics of blue-trimmed rooms, and today I’m gonna share some of my favorites with you.

This post felt like the perfect opportunity to kick off a new blog series I’ve been dreaming up for a while now: P.S. (Pins & Saves).
I’m forever pinning inspo on Pinterest, and saving ideas on Instagram – hence the P.S.
I am so excited for this new series because it will finally give me a space to share some of my favorites with you, highlight the interiors that are inspiring me, and show a little love to my fellow creators too!
It’ll also be a fun way to document and share ideas I’m gathering as I plan for upcoming projects here at the farmhouse.
So whether you’re here for fresh ideas, or just want to see what’s been sparking my creativity lately, I hope these photos bring you a little joy and maybe even some inspo for your next project too!

Sleepy Blue Hue on the Window Trim
First up, I have to show you Copper Colonial’s sleepy blue window trim! I love this color so much in her home that I bought a sample of it to try out in our home.
More on that later, I still need to get some photos of the samples of the samples up on the wall to share with you… but isn’t this color so gorgeous in this space?!
Muted Blue Doors & Baseboards
This muted blue door caught my eye – isn’t it so pretty?!

Blue Green Trim and Historic Home Details
Next up, this blue green trim color looks like it was meant for this 1940’s historic home!
I love how it makes the details of the crown molding and the lines of the fireplace mantel pop. Very classic and the perfect color for all the historic details in this room.
Blue Interior Window Shutters & Trim
I’m swooning over those blue painted interior window shutters!
I just might have to start scouring through Facebook Marketplace because shutters would add so much character to the kids bedrooms.
Blue Doors & Trimwork in a White Hallway
This next photo really got my wheels turning!
We are already planning to paint the kids’ upstairs bedrooms, but what if we carried that blue out into the upstairs hallway too?
Give a mouse a cookie… and she’ll want to paint to entire house!
Playful Blue Trim and Built-in Playroom Shelves
My son’s room has a little nook to the left of his closet, sort of like the one seen here to the left of the fireplace. My plan is to add some build-in shelves in the nook for books and decor.
And seeing the blue trim in this space, I think it would be so fun to paint my son’s shelves blue too!
Blue Green Trim and Colonial Window Shutters
Another beautiful blue green color, and the prettiest colonial style window shutters. Gosh this space is just so inspiring!
I love Megan Miller’s home and style so much. If you aren’t following her yet, you should definitely go take a peek and scroll through her IG account!
Soft Blue Painted Door & Trimwork
Isn’t this the prettiest soft blue trim color?!
You have to scroll through to see the second photo in this post. It shows a better view of the door, and this pale blue paint against the white walls inside the closet in this pretty room.
Ocean Blue Trim in a Nautical Boys Bedroom
One of my favorite pics in today’s post, and a room that has given me so much inspiration…
I found this photo on Pinterest, so I did a little digging to find the original home / creator so I could share it with you.
This blue is a bit darker than I’d like for our kids’ rooms… but I love how it pairs with all the eclectic nautical decor inside this space.
I think the deep blue trimwork is stunning and the perfect shade of blue for this little boy’s room!
Carolina Blue Trim at the Carolina Cottage
A fellow Brittany, whose style I LOVE, painted all the trimwork blue inside her SC Airbnb – the Carolina Cottage. And isn’t it just darling?!
Brittany’s Airbnb and the new-old house her and her husband built have always been so inspiring to me! You likely know of her already, but if not, she’s definitely one to follow!
True Blue Trim with White Walls and White Painted Floors
The classic true blue trim, paired with white walls and white painted wood floors has me captivated.
It’s simple, but also kindof perfect. Definitely the vibe I’m going for in our farmhouse!
Baby Blue Door Trim and an Antique Transom
And last but not least… the baby blue trim color and the antique transom window that has stolen a piece of my heart!
The pale blue hue on the trimwork is just beautiful. But that transom window is a show stopper!
And then there’s the penny tile wall that you can sort of see through the doorway…
When I came across this photo I audibly gasped!

I for one am feeling so inspired, and so excited to get to painting upstairs. Now I just have to settle on the perfect shade of blue for our home!
