Merry Christmas friends… To celebrate with you from afar, I want to take you on a little virtual tour of our farmhouse now that it’s all done up for Christmas! Come scroll with me as I stroll through our home, and get a peek at our Farmhouse Christmas decor!! I had big plans to share many of these spaces as individual blog posts, but time is precious and fleeting. And so I thought this would be a fun way to share a ton of Christmas inspo in one big blog post! Welcome to the farmhouse y’all… I hope you enjoy this little tour of our home!
I kept things pretty simple and classic on the front porch this year! (And let’s be honest, the porch was a construction zone for most of December because of the DIY fireplace project, but we still decked the halls!) We added the prettiest, custom made grapevine wreaths from Blue Lotus Creations. You can read about our wreaths, how to purchase one for your home, and see more photos of them by clicking [this link].
Our kitchen saw many DIY projects and crafting sessions this holiday season! We made iced gingerbread cookie ornaments, and I tried my hand at drying sliced citrus fruit for a garland! [Click here] for the gingerbread ornament DIY. [Click here] for the dried citrus DIY.
The dried oranges ended up mostly on our Christmas tree, though a few were used in one of the tablescapes I created for our dining room. The grapefruit were strung up as a garland and hung on the new antique mantel in our living room… and I must say I absolutely love how the garland turned out!!
Our living room was under construction for most of November and December this year as we worked on the new DIY fireplace we have been building. You can see the latest on this project by clicking [this link]. And truth be told, we still aren’t completely done… but there are a few things that made this space feel more like Christmas: our holiday candles from Stroud Simply Southern, our new Deco TV Frame, and a the faux Christmas garland on the mantel! It felt so good to have some finishing touches up in this area, even if the living room is still very much in progress.
Even the powder room got a little tree mini Christmas tree this year! I recently added these antique oval shaped frames to this space, and I love the visual interest they add. And seeing the frames arranged like this makes me want to keep looking for more! I found the large frame at Habitat’s Restore, the medium at the Glass Cloche in Burgaw, and the smallest one at Baker Street in Wilmington.
Now usually I’m all about the neutral tones, even for Christmas, but I loved having a little pop of red in our guest bedroom this year! Our guest bedroom is fit for Santa himself to come and stay! In fact we’re hoping Santa swings on by to help us wrap a few presents, and then he can have a comfy spot to rest for a bit if needed… To see more photos of this space click [this link].
Even Ford has been enjoying this guest space this holiday season!! He loves catching some Zzzz’s by the foot of the bed while I blog… He didn’t love sitting in this chair for pictures, but he was a good sport about it!
Our dining room is one of my favorite areas in our home this Christmas! For this look, I layered some of my hand-me-down doilies in the shape of a runner down the center of the table. I strung mini mercury glass ornaments on twine as a garland, and added that atop the doily table runner. Then to finish off the look, I added brass candlesticks and white taper candles!
I originally created a whole different look in this space, but it suffered a major spill. So I had to be take it all apart to clean it. But it gave me the inspo to create this whole new look! And I absolutely love how it turned out!! To see the original tablescape I created, click [this link].
Right next to the dining room is our coffee bar. Now I thought I loved last year’s hot cocoa bar! But after styling this nook with our new white Santa mugs and lots of neutral tones… I have to say this year’s coffee bar tops last years for me! To see last year’s hot cocoa bar, click [this link].
And last but not least… I thought I’d end this farmhouse Christmas tour where I end my days… our master bedroom! This year we added our flocked tree to our bedroom and it has been truly magical… We kept this space pretty neutral, but still very festive and warm! Since we rarely get snow here in eastern NC, I’ve truly enjoyed having a “White Christmas” in our bedroom!!
I hope you enjoyed going on this little farmhouse Christmas tour with me today! It has been such an honor spending this time with you, and it has truly meant the world to me each and every time we get to hang out here in this virtual space! So thank you for making my day and stopping by the blog today. And before I sign off, I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! May God keep you safe in all your travels, and may this season be filled with light and love… Talk to ya soon friend, and as always, thank you so much for following along…
