Our Built-in Coffee Bar Styled for Spring

I recently found the prettiest faux tulip stems, and it got me in the mood to do a little spring decorating! I ended up creating a fresh spring look in our little built-in coffee bar area and I can’t wait to share it with you!!

It’s been a while since I shared our coffee bar on the blog. I’m not a coffee drinker, but it’s one of my favorite little spots to decorate in our farmhouse.

I’ve struggled with our coffee bar area at times because the top half has been a blank canvas for so long.

I’d love to eventually add some more texture to the walls with some beadboard. And maybe swap out the can lights for something a little more my style. That’s a project for another day though.

We added the corbel shelf a little while back and I think that helped break up the back wall, and it also give us some functional but pretty storage.

And then this week I hung a pair of antique chippy corbels in the corners of the walls!

I love how the corbels look here! I think it added some visual interest and some of the character this little built in nook was missing.

Now let me tell you a little more about those tulips! Aren’t they so pretty?

The faux tulip stems I found are “real-touch”, meaning they feel like real live tulips. And I can attest to that! They actually do feel like the real thing!!

The stems are very bendy which makes them so easy to arrange however you like. I bent mine at various points so that I had some shorter ones and some taller ones in my vase.

I also bent some of the tulip stems downwards so it looked like they were starting to droop in the same way that a real tulip would over time.

Tulips just feel like spring to me, and I think these real touch tulips were the perfect addition to my spring coffee bar!

And if tulips aren’t your thing, I rounded up a few more of my favorite spring florals and linked them all for you in my LTK.

Aren’t they all so pretty for spring? Which stems are your favorite?

Ok, on to the rest of this space. The chippy painted mirror is a recent antiquing find! I found it at Baker Street Curiosity Shop in Wilmington, NC for only $11.99!

If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking this shop out. I almost always find something I love and have to have for our home!

I mean, just look at all that chippy paint! If you love chippy old pieces too, head to this post to see how I seal chippy paint on antique finds.

I have a bit of an obsession with antique dishes and platters. I’d like to eventually hang more of them on the walls. But for now I have some of them displayed here on the coffee bar!

Oh and the little accordion rack, this is just a temporary spot for it!

The corbel shelf is technically not done yet. We started this project and never did quite finish it.

But the plan is to add another 1 x 6 or 1 x 4 to the back wall right under the shelf, and then we’ll add some peg hooks to that board so we can hang coffee cups and decorative things on the wall.

I installed a DIY peg rail shelf in the upstairs bathroom and love how that one turned out! Eventually I’ll get around to finishing this peg rail shelf too.

But for now it works, and it’s a fun space to decorate around in the meantime!

So many of the things in this space have been thrifted and collected over time… but there are a couple fun DIY’s here too. And DIY’s I have finished so I can share the “how to” with you, lol!

Past DIY’s Seen in this Space

Home is curated, home is collected, and home is created.

I think this space incorporates each of those ideas between the new faux tulip stems, the collected dishware and antique finds, and the DIY’s that make it feel like me.

If you’re not already, I’d love to personally invite you to join my email list! I’ll send you seasonal decor inspo from posts just like this one, DIY’s, behind the scenes sneak peeks, and more each week.

I hope today’s post brought a little spring to your scroll today! I really enjoyed playing with the decor and freshening this space up for the season.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Until next time…

Love, Brittany
